Spirito di Vino: Reviews & Ratings
our best meal in Rome!!!! The food was phenomenal, the carbonara was insane. Thank goodness it was our last dinner here because it’s hard to top. We also got the buffalo cheese appetizer, the lamb rigatoni, and the tiramisu, all so good. The service was awesome, our server and the owner both. Not sure why this place isn’t PACKED!! OH and the ability to see their wine cellar!! No words needed!! Recommending this place to our our friends back home!!
Best dinner of my life! Spirito Divino is a family-owned restaurant where you truly feel like part of the family. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious. They even have an ancient wine cellar that’s older than the Colosseum! I made a promise to myself to come back here every time I visit Rome. A truly unforgettable experience.
The food was delicious (the chicken meatballs were particularly good and canned with the creamiest mash potatoes I've ever had), the staff were lovely, and the wine cellar was very cool to see!
Our favorite meal in Rome! They are a part of the Slow Food and Italian Chefs association, all organic, fresh, and home made- and it takes it. You can take the love. Great wine selection obviously! The staff were fun, the place was busy with wine tours and tables alike. I love how tucked away it is - felt very local. Definitely check out the wine cellar and then find the statue discovered there at the Vatican Museum :)
Visited Spirito DiVino on a food and wine tour in Trastevere, and it felt like a VIP experience Walking the charming side streets set the tone: it was like stepping into local Roman life. Once inside, my husband and I immediately noticed how cozy the space felt, from the soft lighting to the intimate, family-style seating. Our Guide had a personal connection with the Owners as well, which made the evening feel even more special! We toured the wine cellar, descending a narrow staircase framed by exposed brick and an old archway, which added a sense of adventure. Downstairs, we met an Owner, and hearing Spirito DiVino’s backstory while our Guide and the Owner laughed together and caught up as friends was a memorable moment. Back upstairs, everything only got better We tasted braised pork with gravy and fresh bread. It was delicious and paired perfectly with the wine Speaking of wine, both red and white varieties flowed freely, each glass full of character. The wines impressed our group so much so that some travelers purchased bottles to enjoy during the trip or had them shipped home. We considered the same, but decided it’s the perfect reason to return soon (especially as we’re currently a bit closer living abroad in Germany) ???????? Between the outstanding wine, incredible food, and warm hospitality, Spirito DiVino was an unforgettable highlight of our time in Rome. It’s not just a place to eat and drink, but a place where history and hospitality come together in harmony. We left feeling grateful and already excited to come back
Come here to relax, enjoy a good meal away from the crowds (almost). The wine choices are good and the ce)are is a fun diversion (and there are some wines of note if you really open up your wallet). The food is simply delicious, slow cooked is their moto and the flavors come together in every bite. The owner/chef was there and her dishes did not disappoint. Enjoy!
My wife found this restaurant when we were seeing where to go for dinner one evening, and I'm glad she did. We walked in just before they were due to open, and we had no reservation. The staff called over the owner, Francesco, who ushered us in to take a seat until he could see us to a table. Francesco was a delightful host to converse with. He informed us that his mother and wife were working in the kitchen. His mother was a respected scientist in her previous career. He helped us through the menu as my wife required a vegetarian option. She was directed to a pasta dish made with Rigatoni, Ricotta, and Black Truffle shavings, which she thoroughly enjoyed. I went for the Spaghetti with Bacon and Grana Zabaglione with Saffron, which was described as being almost a Carbonara! It came out presented so beautifully, that I had to be reminded to mix the sauce into the pasta properly before eating! My meal was so wonderfully cooked, and I enjoyed two glasses of Sicilian Grillo white Wine with it. Francesco had brought out some organic bread and I told him I would be saving it for scarpetta, mopping up the delicious rich sauce at the end. I must add, that aside from Francesco and his family, the service staff were very attentive too. There were large wine tasting groups coming in, but they managed to balance this whilst still tending to our table. We finished off with an indulgent Tiramisù to share before asking for the bill. I felt the price was reasonable and was about to leave extra as a tip to show my contentment, but Francesco took a lower amount of cash than stated on the bill and pushed the rest back towards me despite my initial reluctance. It was only now, reading properly about the restaurant, that I realised I missed out on seeing the incredible wine cellar, but I had such a lovely evening here overall, it felt like having dinner at a friend's home.
We had one of the best meals during our trip here! Francesco was so welcoming and we felt right at home. Wish we were in Rome longer so we could come back again. There is a basement cellar with over 3000 wines that was super cool to go see after we finished our dinner. Thank you for a great experience!
